• Industrial automation can be a demanding environment for the inexperienced.

• It is an area of industry that is under constant development, and as such requires an awareness of the scope of new developments.

• Many individuals and companies enter the field and find the task of continually engineering unique solutions too demanding. They opt to support their business by becoming supply agents for overseas automation products.

• To produce the best solutions, considerable knowledge and skill in all of the Automation disciplines and facets of the technologies involved, is required.

• Andrew Donald commenced work in 1960 in the design office of Macson Machine Tools.

• Over the following 35 years he was extensively involved in the Design and Manufacture of Industrial Machines and Automation Systems in Australia and Overseas.

• In January 1996, he formed Andrew Donald Design Engineers pty ltd., an independent automation company that has drawn together some of the best engineers and designers from all disciplines of Automation engineering.

• He believed that a group with a broad knowledge base that focused on designing and engineering solutions by addressing a project's needs and applied the most suitable equipment, offered a better alternative than solutions based on the application of a company's specific product range.
