About Us
A deep history of automation.
Andrew Donald started the company in 1996 but the heritage of ADDE goes back further, to the 1980s when a number of the current team first started working with Andrew then the engineering manager at Machine Dynamics.
In those early days, we were designing our own robots and building automation solutions for companies such as Ford, Glaxo (now GSK) and Nabisco.
When Andrew founded ADDE he bought together a number of the old Machine Dynamics crew and built up the company to be a highly respected and leading automation house.
From the very early days we have built a strong relationship with the local Pharmaceutical industry building our first BFS finishing line for AstraZeneca in 1998. Over the years ADDE has developed extensive experience and a deep understanding of the needs, processes and expectations of pharma.
ADDE applies the same high standards to all our projects ranging from food, packaging, manufacturing and even explosives.
Today ADDE is ‘second generation’ with Andrew now retired and the company run by joint-directors Sophie Collis and Barry Hendy who have run the company together since 2011.
Based in Melbourne’s outer eastern suburb of Bayswater we are located in a spacious estate with our design offices, machine shop, welding bays and electrical build around our assembly floor. We have the space to fully assemble even the largest of systems so we can complete extensive commissioning and Factory Acceptance Testing.
At the core of the ADDE culture is a passion for building innovative and productive systems. We relish the challenge of demanding jobs, love using the latest technology but above all else, want to see the most effective solution hard at work in your factory.
