High accuracy check weigh

This In Process Check system provides an extremely accurate ( 0.01mg) measurement of the powder in a blister pack. Using a Mettler Toledo weight scale the blister is weighed before and after each pocket is evacuated of powder to provide a high accuracy process check of the fill quantity. Using an ABB IRB 120 robot the blisters are processed from trays in the required order with all data logged.

Frankfurt Sausage Packing Machine

This specialised ADDE machine is for the high speed packing of up to 800 sausages (Frankfurt or hotdog sausages) per minute (1,000 cocktails/minute) loading into a Multivac thermoformer. The machine features quick-change setup between 70mm up to 250mm (3″ to 10″) with packing configurations between retail and bulk packs. The system is split in 2 down each side of the Multivac with 2 Velec bowls, 2 ADDE high speed sorting heads and 4 Kuka Agilus KR 10 hygenic grade robots packing into the Multivac packs.

Alto Central Palletiser

This central palletiser was installed in 2009 (confirm!) but is still going strong. All palletisers are customised to the number of lines and rates required; this line is optimised for a large number of lines (up to 36) but a relatively low case rate on each line, which means robots on tracks is the perfect solution. The line features 3 pallet types with the robot picking the required pallet from the stack and loading it in place using the special gripper adaptor. Finished pallets are taken out on rail shuttles to the hood wrapper and on to the warehouse.

Reorientating and double stacking product in preparation for flow wrap packaging.

Product infeed rate is 90 parts per minute. The machine uses a Fanuc M-1iA D 6-axis Delta Robot to pick, place and reorientate the part.

This central palletiser was installed in 2009 and is still going strong.

Receiving over 9,000 cartons per hour from 27 packing lines, with 16 robots and 32 pallet stations the system outputs over 100 wrapped pallets per hour.

The system is serviced by AGV delivering stacks of empty pallets and taking the finished pallets away.

Featuring ABB 4600 robots the system uses custom rail shuttles to transfer the pallets from pallet preparation to each station then on to the stretch wrapper..

Cake loading to trays

Automated loading of cakes onto trays.

The trays are de-nested using an ABB robot.

The operator can replenish the stacks of trays without stopping the robot loading.

The tray stacks from the box occasionally come wedged together causing the robot not being able to pickup the tray. In this situation the robot after a couple of attempts will automatically start loading from the other side of the de-nester. A tower lamp alerts the operator of the presence of a wedged tray. They can then rectify the problem and allow the robot to resume de-nesting from that stack.

The cakes come in sets of 4 at a rate of 900 per hour. Using conveyor tracking the robot will pick up the cake and place it in the tray.
