An special purpose machine using a vision system for the inspection of vials
The customer required an automated quality inspection process to check that the vial plastic covering is wrapped around the bottom and top to precise specifications.
The system uses 4 separate cameras with UV illumination with dedicated software to get a 360 degree view of the key areas as well as intelligent software to decide if the vial is within specification in order to accept or reject it.
A series of star wheels with built-in suction cups automatically move the vial to its required location:
- reject area
- manual tray off area
- output conveyor
