Box Erecting & Case Packing

A compact robotic box erecting and case packing cell using an ABB IRB 1200 robot to do all of the operations. The robot opens the case and does a jiggle using a clever jig to close the bottom flaps.

Products are accumulated into a layer then loaded into the case. A case holds 4 layers.

The system includes a print inspection which ensures that there are 6 individual products in the wrapped carton.

If the case fails the inspection a gate drops on the in-feed conveyor and the product is conveyed out of the cell.

The 2 case flat pack magazines allow the operator to safely replenish each stack without stopping the machine.
